The calves are feeling a bit better yet I’m nowhere near being able to run so I will be mostly cycling for the time being. I’m trying to put the difficulty level to a point were I do struggle from early stages so I can get my heart used to being at high bpm and improve endurance. Also, it’s mentally tough so we’ll be working on mental strength.

1️⃣ I’m Kristin, I’m 30 years old!▪️
2️⃣ I was born and raised in a small town on Lake Harding in Alabama. My husband and I bought my childhood home from my parents 🏡▪️
3️⃣ I’ve been married to my hubby for 7 years. We met in college and have been together for 11 years! He is the best supporter and is always willing to go on my crazy running adventures!▪️
4️⃣ We currently have six fur children (three inside dogs and three outside cats).▪️
5️⃣ We love to travel and I love turning our vacations into race-cations!▪️
6️⃣ I am an only child. I won’t deny I’ve been spoiled, but my parents always taught me to work hard toward my goals and that I wouldn’t have everything handed to me in life.▪️
7️⃣ I work for an amazing company and plan to stay here until retirement (or when I win the lottery).▪️
8️⃣ I started running almost four years ago and fell in love with it. I’ve now ran 20 half marathons, 3 full marathons and several other races.▪️

CR – GIRU DE NATALE
Sans la tête, ni les jambes…

5 ans après ma dernière participation, je décidais de m’aligner ce week-end au Giru de Natale, course organisée par l’Association Sportive de la Sûreté Publique. Un parcours réputé difficile avec deux belles montées dans les rues de Monaco.

10h35. Le top départ est donné avec 5 petites minutes de retard à l’endroit même du départ du Grand Prix de Formule 1. Bien placé pour une fois dans le sas élite, j’en profite pour faire l’effort et venir me positionner dans le sillage des tout premiers. Ça part vite, trop vite… 3’11 au premier kilomètre. On longe les quais du Port de Monaco avant de passer de nouveau sur la ligne de départ. Je lève un peu le pied, conscient d’être parti sur des allures trop élevées, d’autant plus que le plus dur arrive. Une première bosse dans le 3ème kilomètre, histoire de préparer les cuisses pour la suite des hostilités : la montée à Monaco-Ville par les escaliers de la Rampe Major. 300m pour rejoindre la place du Palais. 300m de souffrance. Je me surprends à accuser le coup et à marcher alors que je connais ce passage par cœur et l’ai emprunté des dizaines de fois en marchant ou en courant. Parvenu non sans mal sur le Rocher, je relance la machine. Mentalement, ça va, le premier gros morceau est passé ! Il faut repartir au combat.

J’allonge la foulée et accélère l’allure dans une partie hyper roulante qui nous fait descendre de Monaco-Ville, tourner devant le Marché de La Condamine et rejoindre le digue semi-flottante. Avant de contourner de nouveau le Port. Le souffle est revenu. J’oscille entre 3’25 et 3’45 au kilomètre sur cette portion. Place maintenant à la deuxième « ascension » de la course, la montée de l’avenue d’Ostende. Là encore, près de 400m au menu. Je suis contraint de marcher sur la seconde moitié de la montée et sitôt parvenu sur la Place du Casino, je relance de nouveau. Il me reste 3 kilomètres, dont presqu’un tiers en descente. Plus question de tergiverser !

Genau das hab ich heute getan. Zurück zu meinen eigenen Anfängen. Ich wollte mal wieder lange rennen, aber mein Körper ist noch immer so so müde. Er will mir damit sicher was sagen. Nur was? Ich laufe gerne. Eigentlich. Ich will Essen! Ganz uneigentlich! 😂 Lang laufen heißt viel essen. Für meinen Kopf war der lauf sehr sehr wichtig. Trotz vieler Pausen, aufs Wasser gestarre, Käsebrot essen und vieler, vieler Gehpausen!!! Aber genauso habe ich letztes Jahr begonnen. Wieso muss man immer rennen? Nen Scheiß muss ich. Spaß haben sollte ich! 
Es war hart, aber leider bitter nötig. Die Zeit die da steht ist bei weitem nicht die echte. Ich war über 2.5 Stunden unterwegs. Aber das aller wichtigste... ich hab es genossen! ❤

I sound like Clark Griswald when he finds his Christmas tree. My nose and mouth are frozen and numb it was brutal out there with the cold and wind. Yesterday was so warm I actually had shorts picked out for today’s run 😂

I unintentionally took 5 days off. With the holidays rapidly approaching, traveling last weekend and life in general I missed two runs and a cross training day. I strongly dislike skipping runs but between being exhausted and running around like a lunatic i missed some workouts. I am filling them into my schedule this week though to make them up! 
Christmas is Monday- that fact dawned on me yesterday and I’m so not ready 🤦🏼‍♀️🎅🏻🎄 .

It was a balmy 26° this morning. Either my body is getting used to the morning torture sessions or I'm broken because at first it didn't seem like it was that cold. Don't worry though I got a dose of reality slapped onto my face as soon as I got hit with that first gust of wind. I intentionally took it easy today. Woke up sunday with some serious hip/lower back pain (egg aka ovulation week) and I probably shouldn't have taken a run yesterday because I had been feeling better and then it flared back up again. Today I felt like my normal self, thank God! I do plan on doing some home workouts today so that was also another reason for not going 3.5-4 miles. Another run I don't regret!

It was a balmy 26° this morning. Either my body is getting used to the morning torture sessions or I'm broken because at first it didn't seem like it was that cold. Don't worry though I got a dose of reality slapped onto my face as soon as I got hit with that first gust of wind. I intentionally took it easy today. Woke up sunday with some serious hip/lower back pain (egg aka ovulation week) and I probably shouldn't have taken a run yesterday because I had been feeling better and then it flared back up again. Today I felt like my normal self, thank God! I do plan on doing some home workouts today so that was also another reason for not going 3.5-4 miles.
