This run was one of those runs. 6:49 mile (not my fastest mile, but was my fastest most recently) and I remember pounding the pavement, praying, and releasing and lot of heavy emotions that day. ————————-
Today, however, I’m taking a rest day, allowing my body to recover and fully embracing this cut back week coach @mrsetht has scheduled for me. ————————-
Running is an ever growing journey, and as an athlete you are constantly learning over and over again. What works, what doesn’t, how much to push, when to rest, how far to go, how often to run, what time to race, when to train for speed, when to train for endurance, etc, etc. 
But, I think that is the beautiful thing - running is an ever fluid adventure, with surprises and valleys and mountain top experiences around every corner. and the joy that is running is traveling the unknowns of running/ the joys the trials the good races and bad / with a courageous and hopeful heart. ————————

Getting back into race shape is never an easy task. Especially in a ski town, in the dead of winter. Cold, and short days are the regular. This is an example of an eccentric push-up. The hard part of a push-up is going down alllllll the way and still being able to push yourself back up! This is a way to work up to it. Side note. I hate working upper body but I make myself do it at least once a week! •

I survived my workout!!!! LOL soooo dramatic!! But I seriously didn't want to get up at 4:15 this morning 😴 even though I went to bed at a decent time last night. After I started running though, I woke up. I ran 5 miles and did legs. My new program has me doing two leg days a week. This week is a little off but I'm trying to fit as much in as possible!!!! body weight Squats 3 x 12
Hip Abductors 4 x 15
Squats 10, 8, 6, 4 (increasing weight)
Step ups 3 x 10 per leg
Reverse lunges 3 x 10 per leg
Quad extn 3 x 30 dropsets

This is what I actually finished in my workout. There were three more moves in the circuit but I ran out of time. Maybe I'll have to shorten my runs on leg days to make it all fit. 
Lots to do today. Ernie's knee surgery is tomorrow morning so I want to be so caught up on everything so that's I can fully devote myself to taking care of him for at least the first 48 hours without any distraction.

I survived my workout!!!! LOL soooo dramatic!! But I seriously didn't want to get up at 4:15 this morning 😴 even though I went to bed at a decent time last night. After I started running though, I woke up. I ran 5 miles and did legs. My new program has me doing two leg days a week. Listen to your body. After Hurtwood, I gave myself a week off running; with the plan to follow that by just running easy with no pressure until my next training cycle starts in January. I started off with some short runs with friends. On Sunday, I went further with a 10-mile run. I kept it steady, had a lovely time and ignored my watch apart from looking at the route I had planned. Nothing felt wrong as I ran but when I got home, I felt like I had run another ultra not just 10 miles. I checked out my data via the @suunto app and saw that my heart rate had been too high for easy for the whole ‘easy paced’ run and it was still fairly high sitting on the sofa. My resting heart rate has also been higher than normal since Hurtwood. Conclusion, I’m not fully recovered yet. This teamed with some other things I’ve noticed, I popped to the doctor yesterday, just to get checked out, full bloods taken, heart checked out, etc. I have rested the last couple of days and plan to rest more and already that resting heart rate is going back in the right direction and the Dr said all was fine with it too. Results of the bloods next week and with all of this self care, I will start my next training cycle in January fresh and ready.

Nothing felt wrong as I ran but when I got home, I felt like I had run another ultra not just 10 miles. I ended up with 2.5 on the highway,  4 loops, equaling 3 miles of hills up and down my street and then another 2.5 back on the highway.  I ended up with 518 feet of climbing at a moderate pace, I never felt like I was pushing too hard which is good.  Happy Tuesday! #nofilter

Tried to keep most of this run off road today, loops around the reservoir, where I had a run in with a giant dog that jumped all over me! 😄then through the woods.
The weather was vile but I thoroughly enjoyed that wet and muddy run after being stuck at home at the weekend and having to resort to the treadmill to do my #runuptochristmas miles.

Wet and windy one! 🌧🌬 . Still taking it gently this week and running slow and 'easy'. Love trying out new things running related. Tested out the @freetrain today a brilliant piece of running kit. Holds your keys and phone and so much more easier to access your phone to change songs if you need to rather than an armband.

Countdown is on: vacation in 3 DAYS. Like, a real vacation... for 17 days. These next three days are jam packed but IM SO EXCITED TO NOT ‘FIT IN’ MY RUN. Oh and hang out with my husband, drinking cocktails in Fiji and all the sov blanc in New Zealand...eating amazing food, reading our loaded up kindles and just exploring the world. And let’s be honest, probably sleep for 3 straight days because I won’t be getting much of that before we go. #vacay #swedbergstravel

I know this not a popular theory and for some, cutting out dairy is an extremely difficult decision to make! Personally, dairy in all forms does not agree with me so it wasn't hard to do and I do NOT miss all the symptoms I had with it. I was reluctant and braced myself to get my ass kicked during that session but even if I didn’t manage to hit the paces today, I was determined to get it done and that I did. 
Not only did I kick the 💩out of #tempotuesday I finished my session feeling a little bit braver and a little more badass and banked 9 windy miles for @runup2christmas for the win 👊🏻 #tempo #temporun #bebrave #fitnessmotivation #ru2c #believe #intervals #intervaltraining
